Shaping Tomorrow. Gender Perspective in a Sustainable World – 2024

Scientific Director: Prof. Paola Paoloni

The project aims to disseminate a culture of inclusion and gender equality through a multidisciplinary approach involving multiple institutions and social actors. Starting from a business and management perspective, the research group seeks to promote gender studies by fostering new collaborations among universities, research institutions, businesses, third-sector organizations, and educational institutions, while also enhancing existing partnerships developed by the Ipazia Observatory on Gender Studies of the Department of Law and Business Economics.

In this way, the project will experiment with interdisciplinary collaboration, integrating perspectives and expertise to address, in a comprehensive and in-depth manner, the challenges related to diversity and inclusion. In the current social and economic context—characterized by growing awareness of the importance of gender equality—the project aims to enhance the third mission activities of the Ipazia Observatory, which has long been engaged in promoting gender studies with an approach focused on identifying differences and highlighting synergies between women and men, as well as supporting a culture of equality and equal opportunities, while combating all forms of violence and discrimination.

The planned activities will contribute to outlining a comprehensive and up-to-date framework of gender diversity management strategies adopted by businesses, public bodies, and third-sector organizations (TSOs) and, at the same time, by activating a virtuous process, will support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 Agenda—Goal 5: Gender Equality.

The activities fall within several lines of action (LA) that support the achievement of specific sub-objectives:

  • LA1 – Network building/strengthening (e.g., creation and reinforcement of synergies among academia, professional and entrepreneurial sectors, third-sector organizations, and schools)
  • LA2 – Knowledge dissemination and outreach (e.g., lectures, courses, seminars and workshops, training initiatives)
  • LA3 – Promotion of change and dissemination (e.g., research activities, education, and scientific consultancy)
  • LA4 – Community services (e.g., mentoring activities and scientific consultancy, establishment of a Startup and SME Help Desk)
